how to keep a fly mask in place...

I just bought a new fly-mask this year, but when my mare wears it, it frequently slips over one ear and twists around so that the flies can easily get inside. It has a double-sided velcro feature, and I don't have other horses that could be loosening it, so does anyone have any ideas on how it gets misplaced? I've tried putting it on tighter, and sometimes that helps, but mostly it doesn't. Thanks.
My horse's feet are as swift as rolling thunder
He carries me away from all my fears.
And when the world threatens to fall asunder
His mane is there to wipe away my tears.

how to keep a fly mask in place...

Your mare is rubbing her head on something and simply rubbing it off over the ear. Other then putting a halter on over the fly mask to keep it securely in place, you will just need to go out and replace it over her ear after she has rubbed her head and slipped it over her ear.
I do not reccomend using the halter method it has more cons then pros. Yes it will keep the fly mask in place, but leaves her at risk of getting the halter caught on something. She would have to be carefully watched. If she is ganna be watched you may as well leave just the mask on and when you see that one ear is out just go out and put it back.
It is more of an annoyance then anything else that she is rubbing her mask off. I would just invest in some good fly spray product, spray a rag and rub on her face, in her ears and forget the fly mask. Do try to avoid getting to much product around the eyes.
