Hi king51,
It's nice to have you around, but I'm requesting you to keep a clean language. It's very important for us.
Thanks,

Re:My Baby Sunny!!!!!
Sorry 4 the inappropiate language here! i was just saying that a horseshow was so sandy and dusty and they didn't even water down their arena. it was so bad that it gave my horse copd(asthma) and he can't eat hay or the littlest dust particle will send him through the ruff.

Re:My Baby Sunny!!!!!
Ow, that's horrible
hmy: Did other horses suffer from the same? It would be irresponsible if they could proceed working that way and get other horses ill as well....
Hopefully it's an acute asthma your horse is suffering and will pass with time (and medicines)

Re:My Baby Sunny!!!!!
My 35-year-old mare was diagnosed with heaves (late stage COPD) about 12 years ago. There's a powder medication the vet prescribed that I put in her feed. She proceeded to eat around it. Didn't miss a bit of feed and left the medication at the bottom of her feed dish. It was expensive, so I stopped using it, but I followed the vet's other instructions to the letter: No heavy work in our South Carolina sweltering summer afternoons, and monitor her other times - ease up or stop work if her nostrils start flaring to breathe. With good care, she's just fine, and as I said 35. Still wins blue ribbons!
By the way, I also have a younger mare (seven years old) and she's the reason I was drawn to read your post. Her name is Sunny!
