Hi Everyone,
Trying every now and then to put some time into enhancing the functionality of the site.. I've addes something new:
Tagging / Folksonomy
Tagging is a community driven way to "tag" information- so once an item is tagged, it can easily be retrieved according to its tag, and connected to other items with similar tags (you can read more about tagging/folkdsonomy here.
How is that implemented on HorsesRing.com?
For every item, we'll have a "Add tag" link. Once you click this link, a small box will open with a field to enter tag in it.
Then, you can enter free text, that describes the content item the most. For example, see how I tagged TBOY's article (here, at the end of the article). I tried to use meaningfull concepts with words that best describe the article: Garlic, Horse Health, Horse Disease.
Then, after you added a tag, each tag is a link to a search result of the tag- so you can click on a tag, and see which other items have the same taggs, and browse them and learn more about the subject.
Currently, you can tag only articles / news items. Soon enough (hopefully this week..) I'll add the ability to tag forum posts as well.
