Trial Begins for Man Charged with Dragging Horse

A Texas man is on trial for the dragging death of his horse two years ago, KFDM, a Beaumont, Texas, television station reported.
According to KFDM, horse owner Victor Guillory told investigators he tied the horse behind his truck to exercise it. Jurors heard from people who witnessed the dragging, as well as an expert on equine hooves, who said the horse's hooves were worn down and damaged.
If convicted of felony cruelty to animals, Guillory will face a punishment ranging from probation to between six months and two years in jail, as well as a $10,000 fine.
